TIANANMEN REQUIEM tells a story of a gay couple during the protests. Wang Yang is a soldier of the People's Liberation Army, and Shuyin is an art student who joined the protests. Their love was forced out under the sun due to the protests. Shuyin later was murdered. And Wang Yang, after being expelled from the army, due to his refusal to open fire at the students, stole Shuyin's identity and exiled to the United States. Confronted by his own daughter, Wang Yang finally unveils this tragic past.
